Lomotif is a media editor and distributor that can work with a wide variety of videos and photographs. This is an especially impressive feat given the relatively high CPU usage involved with traditional video editing.

It's true that Lomotif doesn't offer the variety of editing options that professional-level video editing suites provide. However, this can also be seen as a useful feature. People typically want to edit videos on their phones to share over social media. This is a very different usage scenario than one would experience when working on a professional movie. Video for social media tends to be fairly short and very dynamic. And that's exactly where Lomotif really excels.

The app makes it easy to add text, stickers, and even a selection of filters to videos or photos. The video and images can be acquired through a few different methods. You can simply grab media from your phone. Or you can record videos or images through the app itself. Keep in mind that you'll need to provide the app with access to your pictures and video to import from the phone's gallery. You'll also need to give the app permission to access your phone's camera and microphone if you want to record media from within it.

Lomotif also has a number of ways to work with the audio track for your videos. Users can look through trending music that's curated by both individual genres as well as by thematic elements. This makes it easy to find the perfect music to highlight the emotion you want to express within your video.

But the ability to import additional media doesn't stop with music. You can even import media, including in-progress videos, from friends. You'll likewise be able to easily share your own in-progress works with others. This makes it easy to collaborate on multimedia projects.

Of course the finished video can be shared on social media in the same way you would any other piece of media on your phone. But the app also provides social media integration that flows in the other direction. You can import content from Facebook, TikTok, and other social media sites into Lomotif.

Users can also protect their in-progress work through the "My Eyes Only" feature. This ensures that nobody will see your video until you're ready to share it. However, this does highlight one issue with the app. There's really no way to age restrict media shared directly through Lomotif. If this is an issue for a particular piece then it's best to keep the "My Eyes Only" feature active until the video is finished. It can then be shared onto social media sites that do allow for more complex restricted viewing criteria.
